HILO, Hawai'i – Vulcans continued to shoot hot by draining double-digit 3-pointers for a consecutive contest while posting .521 from the field as Hawai'i Hilo Men's Basketball defeated Fontbonne, 103-47, Saturday afternoon as part of the De Luz Chevrolet Big Island Holiday Classic at the Afook-Chinen Civic Auditorium.
The Vulcans shot 15 of 37 (.405) from beyond the arc, led by four 3-pointers from Jake Kosakowski (12 points) and a pair each from Julian Roberts (14 points), Andre Norris (12 points) and Isaiah Hinds (six points).
Hawai'i Hilo had a distinct size advantage over its Division-III foe as Nadjrick Peat collected his 10th-career double-double with 12 points and 12 rebounds. The Vulcans outrebounded the Griffins, 51-30.
Six players finished with double-digit scoring figures led by 15 points from Julio Montes II.
Hawai'i Hilo moved to 7-4 overall (1-1 PacWest) while Fontbonne moved to a 3-7 record (2-1 SLIAC).

DE LUZ CHEVROLET BIG ISLAND HOLIDAY CLASSIC: Winter 2022 marked the return of the Big Island Holiday Classic, bringing many men's and women's collegiate basketball programs to the Big Island of Hawai'i for competition and fun at the Afook-Chinen Civic Auditorium. The event, put on by TItleTown Events and hosted by the University of Hawai'i at Hilo, is a modern reiteration of the Big Island Invitational Tournament from the 1990s, which featured many NCAA Division I programs with the likes of Oklahoma, Oregon State, Iowa State, Arkansas, Creighton, Purdue, Stanford and UConn among others.
