KOHALA COAST, Hawai'i – Three Hawai'i schools top the leader board after 18 holes at the 2024 Pacific West Conference Men's Golf Championship at the Mauna Lani Golf Course in the Waikoloa area of the Big Island.
Defending champion Hawai'i Hilo holds a one-shot advantage over HPU (309-310) after the First Round. There are two more days of 18 holes each to be played before a champion can be crowned.
Chasing the Vulcans and Sharks are Chaminade (320), Academy of Art (324), Westmont (327) and Dominican (333).
Individually, HPU's Kyle Krupp shot an even-round 72 to sit on top of the leader board. Right behind Krupp is Hilo's Nicholas Gomez (73) and Chaminade's Kyle Stopp (74). One of the tournament favorites Shion Suzuki is fourth (76) with Hilo's Dylan Bercan and Academy of Art's Jack DeBeneditti tied for fifth after shooting 77's.
Round 2 begins tomorrow at 9:40 a.m. Hawai'i time (12:40 p.m. PT).
