LAS CRUCES, New Mexico – Dylan Bercan crushed four birdies on the back nine of Friday's Round 2 action at the NCAA South Central/West Regional at the New Mexico State University Golf Course.
Bercan totaled a 68 round score on the par-71 course, finishing three-under to shoot up 50 spots on the individual leaderboard into a five-way tie at No. 25. Bercan birdied on Hole 5 before finishing one-under par on Holes 12 and 14-16.
However, as a team, Hawai'i Hilo slipped down six slots to No. 16 after shooting 297 at 13-over to bring its two-round score to plus-24.
Dysen Park, who led after Round 1 with a one-under score, struggled early on with seven bogeys before turning around to birdie on three out of four holes on the back nine. Nicholas Gomez, had an opposite outing with three early birdies but finished with five bogeys and two double bogeys the rest of the way.
West Texas A&M overtook the pack with a 279 round to stand at a five-under score with Colorado Christian (minus-four), Colorado Mesa (two-under), Western New Mexico (minus-two) and Oklahoma Christian (minus-one) trailing right behind.

Hawai'i Hilo will tee off the final round Saturday morning starting at 4:20 a.m. (8:40 a.m. local Mountain Time).
The top five teams and top two student-athletes (not with a team) will advance to the NCAA Men's Golf National Championships, May 21-25, at the Orange County National Golf Center and Lodge in Winter Garden, Florida.
