HILO, Hawai'i – In continuing support of Hawai'i Hilo Athletics and the 2024 Vulcan Challenge, the Vulcan Booster Club has pledged to match up to $1,000 raised per campaign, contributing a generous total of $13,000 in matching gifts.

The third annual Vulcan Challenge launched last week, Sept. 17, and has already raised more than $18,000 from over 100 gifts received in support of Hawai'i Hilo's student-athletes. The campaign runs all month-long, ending Oct. 17. This year's goal is set at $150,000.

"The Vulcan Booster Club is both proud and inspired to support the Vulcan Challenge through matching team contributions," Vulcan Booster President Chris Schlueter said. "Our Boosters are deeply committed to helping our student-athletes achieve their academic and athletic pursuits. The Vulcan Challenge serves as a pivotal opportunity to raise impactful financial resources to keep the momentum going in 2024-25."
