FRESNO, California – Hawai'i Hilo Men's Soccer closed a four-game Northern California road trip with a 2-0 defeat to Fresno Pacific Thursday evening in Pacific West Conference play at Ramirez Field.
Zion Vaughn netted goals in the 27th and 43rd minutes for the Sunbirds.
Offensively, the Vulcans dominated the numbers in the stats sheet with a 19-8 shot advantage (7-4 on goal) and 10 corner-kick attempts to just one from FPU. Iago Perez Ferreiro was credited with seven shots.
With the win, Fresno Pacific takes the top spot through the early PacWest Conference season with nine points. Hawai'i Hilo sits one behind (seven points).

- Vulcans will remain instate for their eight remaining regular season games, taking two trips to O'ahu.

PACWEST PRESEASON POLL
Hawai'i Hilo was voted No. 2 in the Pacific West Conference Preseason Coaches Poll, tying with defending tournament champ Westmont in the second spot. The Vulcans finished the 2024 regular season at No. 5 in the conference standings and was one of four teams to qualify for the inaugural PacWest Conference Championships postseason tournament, falling to the Warriors in double overtime of the semifinal round. The 2025 PacWest Championships will be hosted by Westmont on Nov. 13-15 in Santa Barbara.
