Vulcans Sweep Concordia

HILO, Hawai'i – Hawai'i Hilo Women's Volleyball continued its winning ways to make it six in a row with a sweep of Concordia (25-17, 25-20, 27-25) on Friday evening in Pacific West Conference play at the Vulcan Gymnasium.

The Vulcans hit .303 as a team with just 10 attack errors, marking the third time in the last four matches with limited offensive miscues. CUI committed 21 errors.

Malu Garcia (12 kills, .300), Alohi Garcia (11 kills) and Isabella Hadaller (10 kills, .450) each finished with double-digit hitting numbers.

Emerson Reinke totaled 31 assists and 11 digs with two service aces. After Friday's competition, the senior setter now ranks No. 2 in all of Division II for assists — just four behind Flager's (Florida) Clare Sheedy.

  • Hawai'i Hilo currently sits at No. 4 in the PacWest Conference standings behind Fresno Pacific and Point Loma unbeaten (6-0) at the top. Chaminade (6-1) follows ahead with Biola (4-2) one spot behind the Vulcans.

Hawai'i Hilo was voted No. 4 in the Pacific West Conference Preseason Coaches Poll released earlier this week. The Vulcans finished 2024 in a four-way tie for fourth place. 2025 will feature the inaugural four-team PacWest Conference Championships postseason tournament hosted by Chaminade on O'ahu (Nov. 20-21).
