'AIEA, Hawai'i – All five Hawai'i Hilo Men's Golf golfers placed inside the top 10 to contribute to a team victory this weekend at the HPU Sharks Shootout at Pearl at Kalauao.
Dylan Bercan finished runner-up for a consecutive event, shooting six-over. The defending Pacific West Conference Champion recovered from an 81 opening round (+9) by posting even par and a field-best three-under score (six birdies) in Rounds 2 and 3, respectively.
Jordan Sato posted a 75 for all three rounds to land at a two-way tie for fourth place.
Ben Crinella (+10), Katsuhiro Yamashita (+11) and Dysen Park (+12) placed at ties for No. 6, No. 8 and No. 10, respectively.
Average round scores for the event was 78.68.
Missouri–St. Louis' Leo Baudry took the individual win with a one-over score.
The Vulcans' team victory comes off the heels of narrowly falling to Cal State Monterey Bay in a one-hole playoff earlier last week at the Dennis Rose Intercollegiate at Mauna Lani Golf North Course on the west side of the island.
Other than the three consecutive PacWest Conference Championships, this is the first large-field team victory for the Vulcans since winning the 2018 Dennis Rose Intercollegiate at Waikoloa Resort Kings' Course.
