HILO, Hawai'i – Hawai'i Hilo Women's Soccer returned home and finished in a 1-1 draw with Biola on Thursday afternoon in Pacific West Conference play at the Vulcan Soccer Field.
The Vulcans got on the scoreboard in the closing seconds of the first half as Tatianna Chavez shot out of a cannon to finish the connection from Shae Dougherty and Melisa Ranvik for her first goal of the season.
In the 56th minute, the Eagles managed to tie the score with Ella Grannis cleaning up a deflected save. Briley Phelps sent the ball in on a free kick and Hayden Gehring's header attempt was stuffed by Vulcans keeper Lydia Keller, but the ball ricocheted off the knockdown for Grannis to kick it through.
