ANCHORAGE, Alaska – Hawai'i Hilo Women's Basketball closed its season-opening trip through The Last Frontier with a 59-43 defeat to Alaska Anchorage on Tuesday evening at the Alaska Airlines Center.
The Vulcans shot .333 from the field against .344 from the Seawolves, but Hawai'i Hilo was just 1 of 17 (.059) from beyond the arc and finished 2 of 6 at the free throw line. Alaska Anchorage was 12 of 22 on free throws.
Sophomore Brooke Samura led with 18 points (.428 FG%), eight rebounds and five steals. Keirstyn Agonias followed with 12 points (5-7 FG).
Alaska Anchorage's Lillee Duffin managed to rack up 24 rebounds, setting a new single-game record for the Seawolves. UAA totaled 17 offensive boards (seven of them by Duffin) to just seven by the Vulcans.

Hawai'i Hilo was voted No. 11 in the Pacific West Conference Preseason Coaches Poll. The Vulcans finished the 2024-25 regular season tied at No. 10 in the conference standings. The 2025-26 PacWest Championships will be hosted by PLNU on March 5-7 in San Diego.
