HONOLULU, Hawai'i – Hawai'i Hilo Women's Basketball fell to UH Manoa, 61-47, Thursday evening in an exhibition at the Bakoh Arena at Stand Sheriff Center.
Despite the defeat to the Division-I inter-island opponent, the Vulcans kept pace through much of the contest until the Rainbow Wahine managed to pull away for good in the third quarter. After just eight points separated the two teams at the break, UH Manoa started the second half with 11 consecutive points on the way to its largest lead of 20 near the three-minute mark of Quarter 3.
Three Vulcans finished with 11 points: Mindy Kawaha (3-5 3PT), KeanuMarie Huihui (3 3PT) and Kaile Cruz (8-10 FT).
Hawai'i Hilo committed just seven turnovers and had nine steals. UH Manoa totaled 19 turnovers with zero takeaways.
Vulcans splashed nine 3-pointers (.391) but finished shooting .254 overall from the field.

PACWEST PRESEASON POLL
Hawai'i Hilo was voted No. 11 in the Pacific West Conference Preseason Coaches Poll. The Vulcans finished the 2024-25 regular season tied at No. 10 in the conference standings. The 2025-26 PacWest Championships will be hosted by PLNU on March 5-7 in San Diego.
