ROCKLIN, California – Hawai'i Hilo Women's Basketball fell to Jessup, 59-44, Saturday afternoon in Pacific West Conference play at the Warrior Arena.
It was a tough start for the Vulcans as they fell into an 11-0 hole on the scoreboard after shooting 0 of 5 from the field with five turnovers through the first eight minutes of action. Hawai'i Hilo was just unable to find its footing in the opening half, going 4 of 26 (.153) from the field — 1 of 15 from beyond the arc after having shot 64.7 percent (11 of 17) on 3-pointers in a big win over Dominican last Wednesday.
The Vulcans opened the second half with an 11-2 run to quickly cut the deficit in half, but the Warriors responded with an 8-2 scoring spurt as the uphill climb was too much to overcome.
Hawai'i Hilo moved to 4-14 in PacWest play (6-18 overall) as Jessup moved to a 9-10 conference record (14-13 overall).
