KOHALA COAST, Hawai'i – Ben Crinella shot a 64 on the final day of the Amer Ari Intercollegiate to set a new program record at minus-8 as Hawai'i Hilo Men's Golf finished 19th among a tough field of some of the best Division-I teams.
Overall, Crinella finished two-over at a tie at No. 91 after rounds of 79, 75 and 64. The sophomore eagled twice on Holes 2 and 7 while landing six birdies to finish one stroke better than previous record lows of minus-7 (65 shots) posted by Nick Mason (2003-04 season) and Jared Kinoshita (2018-19). Still, three other golfers topped Crinella in the third round of action, including event individual winner Tommy Morrison of Texas.

Leading the way for the Vulcans was sophomore Katsuhiro Yamashita, finishing No. 83 with an even score after rounds of 72, 76 and 68. In Round 3, Yamashita birdied seven times, including five straight on Holes 10-14.
This year's field featured six of the last eight NCAA Division I Champions, including last year's champ Auburn, along with reigning individual NCAA champ Hiroshi Tai of Georgia Tech.
