CALIFORNIA – Hawai'i Hilo Men's Tennis' Jaime Paquet was named Pacific West Conference Player of the Week after posting a 3-0 singles record on Court 1.
Paquet has played singles on Court 1 in all but one of the Vulcans eight matches so far this season, going a combined 6-2 with four consecutive victories against No. 27 Colorado Mesa (twice), Point Loma and No. 36 Concordia.

Hawai'i Hilo's Jaime Paquet won his third and fourth matches in a row on court one for the Vulcans during Hilo's southern California trip. Yesterday (Monday), he rallied back to defeat Concordia's Spencer Cinco by the score of 6-7 (6-8), 6-4, 6-1. On Saturday, the Spain native provided one of UH Hilo's two wins against Point Loma with a 6-1, 7-6 (7-4) triumph over Niclas Goltz. Prior to those wins, Paquet won back-to-back singles matches against No. 27 ranked Colorado Mesa. Four of his eight singles matches have gone three sets, and he is 3-1 in those matches. Paquet sat out 2024 with an injury, and as a freshman in 2023 at Division I Tennessee Tech, he started in both singles and doubles for the Golden Eagles.
The Vulcans are amid a seven-match road trip through Southern and Northern California.
