SONOMA, California – Ben Crinella grabbed a No. 4 finish as Hawai'i Hilo Men's Golf placed seventh at the Sonoma State Spring Invitational this week at the Sonoma Golf Club.
Crinella entered the penultimate event of the season as an individual and finished with an even-par score after rounds of 73, 73 and 70 to place at a tie for No. 4 on the individual leaderboard. The sophomore landed 13 total birdies, getting four of them to fall during his two-under final round of action.
Dylan Bercan led the Vulcans in team scoring, charging up 10 spots to No.18 (plus-seven) on the individual leaderboard after a one-under score in Round 3. Hawai'i Hilo posted a plus-44 total with rounds of 301, 306 and 301.
Cal State Monterey Bay claimed both the team win and individual title on Simon Bjorken's five-under score.
Seven total teams from the Pacific West Conference competed in the two-day event with Academy of Art and Jessup finishing ahead at No. 4 and No. 6, respectively. Hawai'i Hilo placed in front of Menlo (No. 10), Dominican (No. 12), Vanguard (No. 13) and Westmont (No. 15).
