Paquet Selected as Newcomer of the Year; Mountain to Second Team

SURPRISE, Arizona – Two Vulcans earned recognition on the 2025 All-PacWest Teams unveiled Wednesday evening at annual Pacific West Conference Championships banquet at the Surprise Tennis & Racquet Complex.

Hawai'i Hilo Men's Tennis redshirt-sophomore Jaime Paquet was selected as Newcomer of the Year while landing on the All-PacWest Singles First Team after going 14-3 in matches mostly played on Court 1 this season. At one point, Paquet had claimed 12 consecutive victories, including a three-set win over PacWest Player of the Year Elias Emilio Walter of Azusa Pacific.

Paquet joined the Vulcans in fall 2023 but was sidelined for all of the 2024 season. He is currently ranked No. 42 on the Intercollegiate Tennis Association Collegiate Rankings.
