NORTH LAS VEGAS, Nevada – Hawai'i Hilo Men's Golf captured its third consecutive Pacific West Conference Championship Wednesday afternoon at the Aliante Golf Club.
After shooting four-under in both Rounds 1 and 2, Dylan Bercan shot one-over on the final day to land tied with Jessup's Michael Sorber at a seven-under score for the lead. Bercan was a part of the final trio of golfers to tee off to start the round and helped seal up the Vulcans' three-peat with a par finish on Hole 18 — after finishing double bogey on the penultimate par-4 Hole 17. Bercan edged Sorber in the playoff on the 10th Tee to become the sixth Vulcan to claim an individual win at PacWest Championships.

Katsuhiro Yamashita (five-under) and Jacob Torres (plus-two) landed at No. 4 and No. 9, respectively, helping Hawai'i Hilo jump HPU and its two-stroke lead heading into the final round. Vulcans were the only team to finish under par in Round 3 as they finished seven-under overall. HPU ended up runner up with a plus-one team score after a nine-over Round 3.
Yamashita opened the three-day event with minus-four score for a tie at the top with Bercan and later posted a three-minus final round to finish inside the top five. Ben Crinella (No. 18 at +8) and Dysen Park (No. 28 at +16) each totaled par-scores in Rounds 2 and 3, respectively, to aid the Vulcans.
For Hawai'i Hilo, it was its third consecutive conference title after wins in 2023 at Wigwam Golf Course (+15) in Arizona and 2024 at Mauna Lani Golf Course (+34) on the west side of the Big Island. Junsu Im and Andrew Otani (+1) shared individual honors two years ago while Nicholas Gomez (+4) was victorious last spring.
UP NEXT: May 8-10 at NCAA South Central/West Regional (Riverside, California / Victoria Club)
