HILO, Hawai'i – Hawai'i Hilo Women's Basketball fell to Fresno Pacific, 73-59, Tuesday evening in Pacific West Conference play at the Afook-Chinen Civic Auditorium.
The Sunbirds, who averaged more than 26 long-range attempts a game entering Tuesday's contest, managed to land eight first-half 3-pointers from seven different players to jump out to a double-digit lead (FPU finished the game 9-20 3PT).
Fresno Pacific cooled down on its shooting as the Vulcans heated up in the third quarter to go 50.0 percent from the field (8-16 FG) and splashing a pair of 3-pointers to bring the deficit within 10 points, but it wouldn't enough as the Sunbirds managed to keep pace to walk away with the victory.
Freshman Everett Roach tallied a team-high 12 points (5-7 FG) for the Vulcans along with seven rebounds and three steals.
