DOWNEY, California – Hawai'i Hilo Women's Golf opened the spring season with a No. 7 finish at the two-day Cal State LA Spring Kickoff at the Rio Hondo Golf Club.
Kieran Florino led with a top 20 placement after shooting plus-9 on rounds of 74, 77 and 74 to finish in a tie at No. 16.
Elle Otani (individual) shot a round-low score of 73 to start the event but followed up with rounds of +9 and +5 to slide to a No. 28 placement (plus-15).
The field featured seven of the eight PacWest schools along with three from the CCAA, two from GNAC and one from the RMAC. Point Loma claimed the top spot and a plus-2 score led by Allie Nguyen's winning performance of a five-under finish. Hawai'i Hilo placed fourth among the PacWest teams.
