STOCKTON, California – Dylan Bercan qualified for the NCAA Division II Men's Golf Championships with a tie for fourth place while Hawai'i Hilo Men's Golf finished tied for seventh at the NCAA South Central/West Regional at The Reserve at Spanos Park Golf Course, missing out on a team berth by just two shots.
Bercan closed with a four-under 68 to finish at three-under for the three-day event. As one of the top two individuals not associated with a qualifying team, he earned an individual berth to the National Championships set for May 18-20 in Boulder City, Nevada. The senior from Canada is the third Vulcan in program history to qualify for the National Championships as an individual joining Daelen Yamauchi (2012-13: No. T76) and Nick Mason (2003-04: No. T4).
CSU Pueblo's Archie Wyatt also posted a three-under score to finish tied for fourth to earn the other individual bid. Top six teams were Western Washington (-8), West Texas A&M (-5), Cal State East Bay (E), Colorado Christian (+3), Cal State San Marcos (+3) and Cal State San Bernardino (+4).
Hawai'i Hilo carded rounds of 287, 293 and 289 to finish just one shot behind at five-over par tied in seventh place (with Dallas Baptist). A one-shot improvement would have moved the Vulcans up tied with Cal State San Bernardino in sixth place but the tiebreaker would go to the Coyotes (cumulative fifth-score total) to make the National Championships cutoff. The Vulcans started hot, tying for sixth after the opening round (-1), but dropped to No. 11 after two rounds of play. The four-time reigning PacWest Conference champions matched the second-best team score on the final day to shoot back up the team leaderboard.
Ben Crinella finished tied for 20th at even par with rounds of 69, 72 and 75.
Western Washington's Conrad Brown took the individual crown at 10 shots under.
NOTES

- No. T4 (-3) is the highest individual placement for a Vulcan since Bercan finished tied for 10th (-2) at the 2024 NCAA South Central/West Regional.
- This will be the sixth time the Vulcans are represented at the NCAA Division II Men's Golf Championships either as a team and/or as individual(s).
