Women's Soccer Plays to Scoreless Draw with Lumberjacks in Home Opener

HILO, Hawai'i – Hawai'i Hilo Women's Soccer played to a scoreless draw with Cal Poly Humboldt in the Vulcans' home opener Friday morning at the Vulcan Soccer Field.

Both teams finished nearly even in the box score numbers as both were credited for just two shots-on-goal each. The Vulcans two attempts came in the first half on 20-plus-yard long-range attempts.

Lydia Keller came away with her first shutout of the season and the ninth of her career. The reigning Pacific West Conference Goalkeeper of the Year now moves to No. 4 on the Vulcans' all-time career shutouts list, passing Shanna Brown (2008-2009).

  • Keller's two saves moved her career total to 78, passing both Randi Walters (2007-2008) and Breegan Saller (2011-2012) for No. 6 on the Vulcans' career saves list.

PACWEST PRESEASON POLL

Hawai'i Hilo was voted No. 3 in the Pacific West Conference Preseason Coaches Poll. The Vulcans posted an 8-3-6 record last fall and made an appearance in the PacWest Championships semifinal round. The 2026 PacWest Championships will be hosted by Hawai'i Hilo on Nov. 5-7 at Vulcan Soccer Field.
