HILO, Hawai'i – Hawai'i Hilo Women's Soccer earned its first win of the season defeating Colorado Christian, 1-0, on a second-half goal by Brooke Peiler on Sunday afternoon in non-conference play at the Vulcan Soccer Field.
Cleaning up on a direct-kick play into the box, Maia Hales corralled the ball and tapped it over to Peiler for a straight-ground-ball shot through three Cougars and off the foot of a fourth defender to zip past the keeper for the 50th-minute score.
The Vulcans finished with three shots-on-goal to just one by the Cougars. Lydia Keller recorded a consecutive shutout in goal for the 10th of her career.
