A shot just out of reach tipped the scale as the University of Hawaii at Hilo dropped a 1-0 Pacific West Conference match to Fresno Pacific University on the UHH Baseball Field.

The Vulcans (3-3) were in a scoreless tie until Demi Hamilton's lobbed shot over three defenders was just over the out-stretched arm of Vulcan goalie Breegan Saller.
 
The defensive struggle saw the Vulcans held to three shots and the Sunbirds to just five. The Vulcans committed 14 fouls while their counterparts had eight.
 
UH Hilo Head Coach Unity Beddingfield took advantage of her first home game by emptying the bench.
 
“Having all the girls here allowed us to play several players at different positions,” Beddingfield said. “A lot of them stood out and it makes my decision a little harder of who to play but it's good to know that I can put so many players out there and feel very comfortable.”
