IRVINE, Calif.—79 University of Hawai`i Hilo student-athletes have earned Pacific West Conference Scholar Athlete honors, announced today by the conference office.

To qualify, the student-athlete must have a 3.0 accumulative grade point average or better, have to have competed for at least two semesters at the school, and played on the team this year.

There are currently 14 teams in the PacWest, and a record 1,705 student-athletes earned the designation this year.

For UH Hilo, the women's soccer team had the most honorees with 16. The Vulcan baseball, men's soccer and softball teams had 11 each. One person was counted twice, rare soccer-cross country dual athlete Megan Langbehn.
