LA MIRADA, Calif.--No. 20 nationally ranked got off to a good start after over a week off, toping Biola 4-0 on Monday afternoon at the Biola Tennis Center.

The Vulcans, whose last match was in Texas on March 15, settled matters fairly quickly against the Eagles in just one hour and 16 minutes. They improved to 6-2 on the season, while Biola drops to 6-9.

UH Hilo won two doubles sets to clinch the team point to get things off to a good start. Vaclav Slezak and Alessandro Giuliato topped Logan Blair and Quentin Lau on court one (6-4), not too long after Chun En Wu and Martin Soukal blanked their opponents on court two (6-0).

En Wu was the first singles player off the court (#4) with a 6-0, 6-2 win to give the Vulcans a 2-0 lead. Slezak and Giuliato finished their matches on courts one and two respectively at almost the exact same time, with very similar scores. Slezak moved to 6-2 on the year with a 6-0, 6-2 victory and Giuliato improved to 7-0 with a 6-0, 6-1 win. That locked in the match for the Vulcans, leaving courts three, five and six unfinished. In each of those matches, the Vulcans had won the first set.

The Vulcans will play another Eagles squad on Tuesay, taking on Concordia at 1 pm Pacific.
