Bria Beale added another today.
The Vulcan outside hitter was named the Pacific West Conference Player of the Week, helping to lead the Vulcans to a win over Point Loma and a split with Azusa Pacific.Â
In a marathon 5-set loss to the Cougars, Beale had a season-high 23 kills and also added 16 digs and two service aces. In a equally long 5-set win over APU, the graduate senior had 20 kills, 14 digs and three aces.
Earlier in the week versus Point Loma, the Eastvale, Calif. native hit .326 and had 17 kills in a 3-set match, adding 15 digs and a service ace.
On the season, the prime candidate for PacWest Player of the Year leads the conference in kills per set (3.96) and points (4.46).
The Vulcans, who are 16-6 on the season and 13-5 in PacWest play, close out the regular season against the Hawaii school rivals, hosting Chaminade on Friday and Hawaii Pacific on Saturday. Both matches are set for 7 pm.
