LAHAINA, Maui--
All four UH Hilo golfers had their best rounds of the tournament on Wednesday, helping to boost the Vulcans past Hawaii Pacific and into fourth place in the final standings of the Anuenue Spring Break Classic at the Ka`anapali Golf Course.

Kaelyn Uchida made the biggest jump, firing a 76 to move into 16th place overall. It was her best round of the young season, putting her at +29 for the tournament (80-89-76).

UH Hilo's team score of 330 on Wednesday far surpassed their Monday (343) and Tuesday (365) rounds. They moved comfortably ahead of the Sharks by 18 strokes. UC Davis was the runaway winner (+14), followed by Hawai`i (+34), and Portland State (+48).

In addition to Uchida's big leap on the final day, Tia Kualii also improved (85-86-84), as did Kasumi Goto (88-93-83) and Tori Hironaga (90-97-87).

Medalist honors went to UC Davis' Madison Wood, who finished at -2 (71-70-73). Her Aggie teammate Jackie Lucena was a shot behind her (72-69-74). There was a tie for third at +5 between Jasmine Cabajar of Portland State (78-72-71) and Hannah Sun of UCD (73-73-75).

The Vulcans will return to action next week at the Palm Valley Classic in Goodyear, Arizona, April 2-3.
