TUCSON, Ariz--UH Hilo golfers bettered themselves by five shots on the second and final day of the WT Desert Invite at The Lodge at Ventana Canyon on Tuesday.

Kaelyn Uchida shot an 83 again,
Tia Kualii turned in a 89,
Tori Hironaga shot a 90 and
Kasumi Goto checked in with a 96. UH Hilo's 358 was better than Monday's 363.
The Vulcans now return home to prep for the Pacific West Conference Championships, which they are hosting at Waikoloa Kings' Course, April 19-21.
No. 4 nationally ranked Texas A&M-Commerce won the tournament by eight shots with a +27 score. No. 18 West Texas A&M was second (+35), Colorado Mesa was third (+49), No. 9 Point Loma was fourth (+53) and Midwestern State was fifth (+57) in the 17-team field.
Commerce's Sarah Wongsinth took home the medalist trophy (+3) by one shot over Faith Kilgore of Colorado Christian and Loukyee Songprasert of West Texas A&M (+4). Uchida's round of +22 put her in the middle of the field, tied for 46th of 91 golfers.
