KANSAS CITY, Mo.--Three UH Hilo men's basketball players have been named to the National Association of Basketball Coaches Honors Court, announced today by the coaches association (NABC).

Steven Hubbell, Sasa Vuksanovic, and Anthony Haskett were named to the prestigious team, which honors college basketball players from all NCAA and NAIA levels that carry a cumulative grade point average of 3.2 or better through the end of the 2020-21 school year. Additionally, each honoree has to be a junior or senior and have spent at least one full year at their current college or university.

It is the second year in a row that the trio has made the list. The Vulcans also had Kupaa Harrison in last year's group, giving them four honorees. But having three is the second most that the program has ever had, and it is only the second time since the 2006-07 season that they have had three. 

14 players were honored among Pacific West Conference schools, and only Chaminade had more than UHH with four.

All three Vulcans have Dean's List caliber GPA's. Haskett carried a 3.83 grade point average in Kinesiology and Exercise Science. Hubbell graduated with a 3.67 in Business Management and Vuksanovic graduated with a 3.63 GPA in Kinesiology and Exercise Science.

"Our goal is to win in the classroom and on the court," said UHH head coach Kaniela Aiona. "We are very proud of what these three have accomplished and they serve as a great example of what a student-athlete can be."
