HILO, Hawai'i– The softball team faced DePauw in two exhibition games at the Walter Victor Complex.
The games were played with free substitution, which allowed many opportunities for different player's to shine.
"Overall today was a good start," said head coach
Aisha Sueda. "We all were experiencing nerves, myself included. Our game day jitters got to us in the first game but we were able to regroup and put things together in the second game."
When asked what were the highlights of today, Sueda's response was: the pitching.
"Our pitching stood out," stated Sueda. "Our pitchers made the adjustments that they needed to from last year and were consistent on the mound."
Getting their first games against another opponent out of the way, the Vulcans will continue to practice as they prepare for their season opener Feb. 18 against Western Oregon at 1 and 3pm in Kaneohe, O'ahu.
