HILO, Hawai'i – The Hawai'i Hilo women's basketball team extended its win streak to three in a row after topping St. Edward's, 61-34, Thursday afternoon in the Big Island Holiday Classic at the Afook-Chinen Civic Auditorium.
After both teams went a combined 7 of 28 from the field in the first quarter, the Vulcans got things going with a 9-0 run through the latter half of the second period to jump ahead for a 28-11 lead at halftime.
Hawai'i Hilo maintained control the rest of the way as it finished the game shooting 45.5 percent from the field (25 of 55) while SEU went just 12 of 50 (24.0 percent).
By The Numbers
- Mandi Kawaha led the Vulcans with 16 points on 7-of-14 shooting.
- Kamalu Kamakawiwoole posted 11 points and six rebounds.
- Bree Olson finished with seven points and nine rebounds.
- Kaile Cruz and Melanie Hiu splashed a combined five 3-pointers off the bench.
- No SEU player made more than two baskets as the Hilltoppers went 4 of 28 in the first half.

Hawai'i Hilo improved to 3-1 overall while St. Edward's fell to 2-3.
The Vulcans will be back in action tomorrow, Nov. 25 in the Big Island Holiday Classic at the Afook-Chinen Civic Auditorium to take on UMary at 4:30 p.m.
