AZUSA, Calif.-- The UH Hilo softball team took the final game against Azusa Pacific in a 4-2 win at the Cougar Softball Complex.
Azusa Pacific (16-13, 10-6 PacWest) scored first in the second game, but UH Hilo (11-9, 9-7 PacWest Conference) one-upped them in the fourth, courtesy of a two-out two-run homer by Nikki Zielinski (2-1).
The Cougars tied up the game in the fifth inning (2-2) and the Vulcans responded with two runs in the sixth (4-2). Alexis Lacy scored off a sacrifice fly by Zielinski (3-2) and Jayda Favela drove in the final run with a single to left field (4-2).
Tehani Seto collected her second win of the season, tossing her first complete game in UHH's 4-2 win.
The Vulcans lost the first game 2-0 to the Cougars who scored a run in the third and sixth innings. UHH had eight hits and left nine runners on base in APU's shutout.
