TURLOCK, Calif.--The UH Hilo softball team lost 6-2 to Cal State Dominguez Hills at the Pedretti Sports Complex.

Nikki Zielinski produced a deep double to right center scoring the Vulcans' first two runs of the game (2-0). Dominguez Hills quickly tied up the game with two runs of their own in the bottom of the first (2-2).

CSUDH's Alyssa Olague silenced the Vulcans' bats after the first inning, only allowing one additional hit in the remaining six innings where she struck out nine Vulcans at the plate. Dominguez Hills scored runs in the second and sixth innings which secured their 6-2 win over UHH.

Alexis Lacy started for the Vulcans on the rubber, striking out two batters while allowing nine CSUDH hits. Sara Bhatt closed up the sixth inning where she faced two batters who both flied out.

The Vulcans are now 13-15 overall with three more non-conference games to go in the Tournament of Champions.

The Vulcans play next tomorrow at 8:30am HT (11:30am PT) against Cal Poly Humboldt and then again at 4pm HT (7pm PT) against Sonoma State.
