TUCSON, Ariz.--The UH Hilo women's golf team was in a great position after their first round, but faltered in the second of the West Texas Desert Invite.
UHH began the day in eleventh and ended the invitational in sixteenth of the 18 teams.
Host West Texas A&M dominated in the second round, rising from second place to claim the first place title (-1). Texas A&M Commerce placed second (+16), 18 strokes behind the invitational's team champion. Rounding up third was Biola who jumped up from fifth place (+23).
The tournament's individual medalist was ART U's Anahi Servin (-2), followed by Biola's Lauren Lee (E) and West Texas A&M's Rylie Cook (+2).
Kaelyn Uchida continued to lead the Vulcans (T52, +20) followed by Kailey Oki (T68, +24), Tori Hironaga (T71, +25), Carli Shimokihara (81, +30), and Tia Kualii (T85, +33).
The Vulcans will head home and do their last preparations before the PacWest Championships (Apr. 18-20) in Litchfield, Ariz.
