Women's Soccer in Division II's Final Top 25 of the Regular Season

Hawai‘i Hilo came in at No. 25 in the United Soccer Coaches Week 10 poll.

KANSAS CITY, Missouri – The Hawai'i Hilo Women's Soccer team just made the cut as it came in at No. 25 in the final United Soccer Coaches NCAA Division II Top 25 Poll of the season released Tuesday morning.

The Vulcans went 0-1-1 in games attributed to this week's ballot with a 2-1 loss to then-ranked No. 8 Concordia University Irvine and a 2-2 draw with Azusa Pacific. Hawai'i Hilo slid down 12 slots from the previous week's rank of No. 13.

CUI (11-2-2) also moved down to just one spot ahead at No. 24. Point Loma jumped ahead to No. 13 after having not received a rank the week before.

The Vulcans also moved down to No. 5 in the West Region Rankings with Point Loma claiming the No. 1 spot. Concordia University Irvine came in one rank ahead of the Vulcans at No. 4.

College of Saint Rose (17-0-1) repeated as the No. 1 team in the country for the second consecutive week.

NCAA REGIONAL RANKINGS

The NCAA Regional Rankings were unveiled last Wednesday with Hawai'i Hilo coming in at No. 6 among the eight teams listed for the West Region.

Point Loma took the top spot followed in order by Cal State Los Angeles, Seattle Pacific and defending National Champion Western Washington. Concordia University Irvine was ranked one slot ahead of the Vulcans at No. 5.

For the West, the winners from each of the Pacific West Conference, California Collegiate Athletic Association and the Great Northwest Athletic Conference will automatically qualify for the postseason. The remaining three teams will be granted according to the regional ranks. The CCAA and GNAC are holding their postseason conference tournaments this upcoming week. The PacWest champion is determined by the final regular-season standings.

Another iteration of the NCAA Regional Rankings will be released Wednesday before the final announcement of selected teams at the NCAA Selection Show on Monday, Nov. 13.

Founded in 1941 and based in Kansas City, Missouri, United Soccer Coaches has grown into the world's largest soccer coaches' organization that serves members at every level of the game.

United Soccer Coaches conducts the most widely recognized national and regional soccer ranking system in the country as a service to the general public and its members. The intent of the rankings program is to stimulate greater interest in men's and women's soccer at the intercollegiate and interscholastic levels and to recognize those programs that are enjoying remarkable success on a regional and national level.

United Soccer Coaches rankings, released every Tuesday during the regular season, are an indicator of week-to-week status of qualified programs and in no way should be used as a guide or indicator of eligibility for championship selection.
