Baseball Falls Out of Top 25 After Idle Week

Vulcans have started the season 7-1 and will be back in action this weekend.

PEMBROKE, North Carolina – After having a week off with no games, the previously 25th-ranked Hawai'i Hilo baseball team did not appear on this week's National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association NCAA Division II Poll released earlier Wednesday.

The Vulcans, who are off to a 7-1 start, received just 25 points in this week's poll.

Two other teams — Belmont Abbey (No. 14) and Missouri Southern State (No. 21) — also dropped out of the top 25 rankings while No. 21 Rogers State (9-1), No. 24 Valdosta State (7-3) and No. 25 Lenoir-Rhyne (10-3) made their way into this week's poll.

Reigning National Champion North Greenville (10-0) remained at No. 1 with 499 points garnered.

In the West Region rankings, the Vulcans totaled 96 points to remain at No. 4 behind CSU San Bernardino, PLNU and Cal Poly Pomona in order.
