Women's Soccer Ranked No. 4 in West Region

INDIANAPOLIS, Indiana – Hawai'i Hilo Women's Soccer came in at No. 4 in the latest NCAA Division II West Regional Rankings released Tuesday morning.

The Vulcans (11-1-3) are one of four teams from the Pacific West Conference listed in the top nine West Region rankings.

With the addition of three schools to the conference, this year's NCAA Division II Women's Soccer Championships postseason tournament features seven berths for the West Region — one additional spot compared to previous seasons. Three of the berths will go to each of the champions from the PacWest Conference, the California Collegiate Athletic Association (CCAA) and the Great Northwest Athletic Conference (GNAC). All three conferences now have postseason tournaments with a champion to be determined the weekend of Nov. 16-17.

The final four spots will be earned by the remaining teams in order of the final NCAA Regional Rankings. There will be one more iteration of rankings posted next week before the final reveal with the NCAA Selection Show, Nov. 18, on NCAA.com.

The top two teams will host the first and second regional rounds at their respective sites the weekend of Nov. 22-24. With seven berths in the West Region, only the top-seeded school will have a first round bye.

The proceeding highest ranked West team will then host the West Region Championship on Dec. 1. The following week, the West Region champ will host the West/South Central NCAA Quarterfinal matchup (Dec. 7).

The last two National Champions have come out of the West Region (Point Loma in 2023 and Western Washington in 2022).
