KOHALA COAST, Hawai'i – Freshman Jaylen landed a birdie on the final hole to put herself and the Hawai'i Hilo Women's Golf team in a finish tied for second place at the Dennis Rose Intercollegiate at the Waikoloa Beach Resort Beach/Lakes Courses this week.
Wan shot two-over on Day 1 to finish tied for third place. Day-2 scores surged due to gusty winds but the freshman still turned in the second-best totals of the round at plus-five to finish tied overall in the runner-up spot (+7) — tied with Colorado State Pueblo's Yale Lee.
The Vulcans posted a 57-over score to finish tied with HPU at the No. 2 spot. CSU Pueblo took the team win by three strokes.
Lee bogeyed the final hole to give Saint Martin's Ashley Bruland the individual win at plus-six.
