TURLOCK, California – Hawai'i Hilo Men's Soccer enters the NCAA postseason for the first time in program history after receiving the No. 9 seed in the NCAA Super 4 Region, taking on eighth-seeded Western Oregon this Friday at 11 a.m. (1 p.m. local Pacific Time) at Stanislaus State's Warrior Stadium.
The Pacific West Conference tournament runner-up Vulcans was one of five teams to land an at-large bid for the NCAA postseason, following the five conference champions from the PacWest (Point Loma), CCAA (Stanislaus State), GNAC (Western Oregon), Lone Star Conference (Midwestern State) and Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference (Colorado Colorado Springs) that make up the Super 4 Region.
The winner of Friday's matchup will take on regional bracket host Stanislaus State on Sunday at 1 p.m. (3 p.m. local Pacific Time).

Hawai'i Hilo and Western Oregon previously met earlier this fall with the Wolves managing to come out victorious, 3-1, at the tail end of the Vulcans' season-opening road trip at the beginning of September.
The Wolves — in just their fourth season of having a men's soccer program — claimed back-to-back conference titles after defeating Seattle Pacific in double overtime of this past weekend's inaugural GNAC Championships postseason tournament. WOU earned seven All-GNAC Team selections along with Player of the Year (Yahir Ocampo Navarro) and Co-Defensive Player of the Year (Harper Neubeck) honors.
The Vulcans qualified for the PacWest Championships postseason tournament for the second consecutive season under third-year head coach Diego Marroquin, falling to PLNU in the title match last Saturday. Senior goalkeeper Paul Waschkau was assessed a red card early in the match and will also have to sit out the upcoming Super 4 Regional First Round tilt. Hawai'i Hilo earned seven All-PacWest Team spots with major awards going to Koki Hamada (Defender of the Year), Iago Perez Ferreiro (Newcomer of the Year) and Jakob Santiago (Freshman of the Year).
