Hawai'i Hilo Men's Soccer's Koki Hamada and Iago Perez Ferreiro headlined postseason academic honors with both landing on the Academic All-America Team as selected by College Sports Communicators.
Both seniors, in addition to Palli Ingvason, had also earned Academic All-District Team distinction for maintaining a 3.50+ cumulative grade point average (with at least sophomore standing) while competing in 90 percent of matches (or starting 66 percent) this past season. Academic All-District selections advanced to the Academic All-America ballot with teams selected by CSC members.
Perez Ferreiro was named to the Academic All-America Second Team with Hamada on the Third Team.
Hamada also garnered United Soccer Coaches Scholar All-West Region Team and United Soccer Coaches Scholar All-America accolades (3.30+ cumulative GPA with at least junior standing).
