SACRAMENTO, California – Victoria Macias racked up six RBI to help Hawai'i Hilo Softball close a three-game series with a win over Jessup, 10-5, on Wednesday at the American River College Softball Stadium after the Vulcans dropped the series-opening doubleheader the day prior.
The opening game was a nine-inning affair with the Vulcans falling by a score of 5-4 before closing the day with a six-inning mercy-rule defeat.
Macias got the scoring going in Game 3 with a bases-loaded two-RBI single in the third inning and later added a bases-clearing grand slam home run in the top of the sixth.
Hawai'i Hilo moved to 11-7 in the PacWest (17-14 overall) as Jessup moved to a 10-5 conference record (16-14 overall).

GAME 1: HAWAI'I HILO 4, JESSUP 5 (9 INNINGS)
- After chasing two early runs from a two-run homer in the first inning, the Vulcans rallied to plate four runners in the top of the seventh on four base hits with two walks. Jessup managed to hit another two-run homer, this time in the bottom half of the seventh to send the game to extra innings.
- In the bottom of the ninth, the Warriors managed to get a lead-off single to come around for the game-winning walk-off run after a subsequent sacrifice bunt attempt was misplayed by the Vulcans defense.
GAME 2: HAWAI'I HILO 3, JESSUP 11 (6 INNINGS)
- Vulcans had just three hits against 11 by the Warriors.
- Jessup plated three runs in the bottom of the sixth inning to reach the eight-run mercy rule for the walk-off win.
GAME 3: HAWAI'I HILO 10, JESSUP 5
- The Vulcans scored six runs in the top of the sixth inning to jump ahead, 9-4. Mia Joaquin and Ke'alohi Markham had RBI at-bats before Macias cleared the bases.
- Madison Rabe took her sixth win of the season after closing out the final 4.1 innings with six strikeouts and just one earned run allowed.
