SURPRISE, Arizona – Hawai'i Hilo Women's Tennis fell to Colorado Mesa, 4-0. Wednesday morning in the Pacific West Conference Championships First Round at the Surprise Tennis & Racquet Complex. The Vulcans followed up and concluded their season with a 4-2 defeat to Academy of Art in consolation-round play Thursday evening.
Hawai'i Hilo was seeded No. 10 for the 12-team tournament.
The Vulcans were spotted one point against ART U with the Urban Knights having just five active players for singles play. Akari Ichiakwa gutted out a 6-4, 7-6 (7-5) victory on Court 3.
Hawai'i Hilo finishes the season at a 7-13 overall record.
