TYLER, Texas – Hawai'i Hilo Women's Tennis closed its four-match spring break road trip with a split falling to No. 39 UT Tyler, 2-5, on Friday before bouncing back with a 5-2 victory over Tyler JC on Saturday.
No. 39 UT Tyler swept the doubles point across all three courts before adding four singles wins to clinch the match.
Hawai'i Hilo took the early advantage against Tyler JC with double victories on Courts 2 and 3 to claim the doubles point. Pia Starnecker posted a straight-sets win (Court 2), Victoria Ricaurte-Cabas gutted out a three-set victory (Court 3) and Marie Cordonnier clinched the match with her victory (Court 5).
The Vulcans finished the week at a 1-3 record.

Hawaiʻi Hilo was voted No. T7 in the Pacific West Conference Preseason Coaches Poll, tied with Stanislaus State. The Vulcans finished the 2025 season in the consolation bracket at the PacWest Championships. The eight-team 2026 PacWest Championships will be held April 15-17 at the Surprise Tennis & Racquet Complex in Surprise, Arizona.
