HONOLULU, Hawai'i – Kathleen Raab topped all runners as Hawai'i Hilo Women's Cross Country claimed victory early Saturday morning at the Chaminade Invitational at Kapi'olani Regional Park.
Raab edged Chaminade's Nikiji Dayse in a photo finish through the final stretch to post a time of 19:21.3 for the win — Dayse was later ruled as disqualified. It is believed to be the first individual victory in Vulcans program history (records only go back to the mid-2000s).
Sequoia Gonzales (19:31.0) and Sam Morinaga (20:04.3) took up the next two spots in order, and Summer Corke (20:35.7) followed closely behind at the No. 5 spot.
