HILO, Hawai'i – Kathleen Raab took first place at the Hawai'i Hilo Invitational (6K) on Saturday morning at the Grand Naniloa Resort Banyans Golf Course to help lead Hawai'i Hilo Women's Cross Country to their first team victory of the season.

Raab crossed the line in 24:06.9, more than 50 seconds ahead of the runner-up finisher (24:59.3), for her second straight individual win this season — finished No. 1 at last week's Chaminade Invitational. The junior became the first-ever Vulcans individual winner in 28 years of hosting the Hawai'i Hilo Invitational.

Sam Morinaga placed third (25:07.5) and Sequoia Gonzales fifth (25:26.9) to help the Vulcans finish with 29 points to take the team victory in back-to-back seasons. Saturday also marks the first time UHH won both team and individual honors at its own event.

In the men's 8K race, HPU won the team title ahead of Chaminade. HPU's Drake Hanley won the individual race (29:40.3).
