Men's Soccer Falls to No. 22 Western Oregon

MONMOUTH, Oregon – Hawai'i Hilo Men's Soccer closed its season-opening road trip with another tough defeat, this time to No. 22 Western Oregon, 3-1, Monday afternoon at WOU Soccer Field.

Western Oregon got on the scoreboard first in the 18th minute — goal by Abraham Villalobos — before adding extra padding 10 minutes later on a score by Alex Grignon.

Aidan Santos netted the Vulcans' lone goal of the afternoon shortly after halftime (51st minute), but Grignon and the Wolves managed to re-extend their lead just minutes later. A yellow card was issued to WOU's Eli White after a foul on Hawai'i Hilo goalkeeper Paul Waschkau, but a passing miscue allowed Grignon to net his second score of the match in the 57th minute.
