NORTH LAS VEGAS, Nevada – Dylan Bercan fired a four-under 68 to lead Hawaiʻi Hilo Men's Golf to first place after the opening round of the PacWest Championships on Monday at the Aliante Golf Club.
The three-time defending champions carded a one-under 287 to lead the eight-team field. Second-place Vanguard is 10 strokes behind at plus-nine.
Bercan, the reigning individual PacWest Champion, landed six birdies through Round 1 and is seeking to become the first Vulcan to claim a second individual conference title.
Jacob Torres sits tied for second at two-under after a 70 score with four birdies. Katsuhiro Yamashita is tied for fifth at even par after a 72 with five birdies.
Hawai'i Hilo is chasing its seventh overall PacWest team title.
