The University of Hawaii at Hilo head back home with a 60-63 win over Notre Dame de Namur University in a Pacific West Conference game in Belmont, Calif.
“I'm really happy for our players,” said UHH Head Coach David Kaneshiro. “We were down nine at the half and battled back. They had a good crowd and we were really proud of how our team responded to that.
“They stuck together. It was a nice team win.”
In a well balanced attack, Natalie Mata and Phylicia Schultz led the Vulcans (8-8 overall, 4-4 PacWest) with 14 points each while Hillary Hurley had 12 points and nine rebounds.
