The University of Hawaii at Hilo played short but it proved to be the key to a 3-1 victory over Point Loma Nazarene University in Pacific West Conference play in San Diego, CA.

“We had only 13 guys playing and the guys stepped up,” UHH Head Coach Ziggy Korytoski said. “They worked hard and had the right mentality going into the match.
 
“They executed and I think that's a sign of a maturing team knowing the responsibilities and taking care of their role in the game.”
 
After trailing 1-0, Vincent Muscarella scored on passes from James Yamane at the 55:18 mark and Aaron Sanchez at the 60:15 to give the Vulcans the 2-1 lead.
 
Ian Watanabe put the exclamation point on the match on a deflected shot off the post.
