Registration for the 2013 University of Hawai'i at Hilo Men's Soccer Spring ID Camp, March 23-24, has begun.
This camp is open to boys aged 15 years and older on UH Hilo Athletic Complex with two sessions on Saturday from 9 a.m. - noon and 3-6 p.m., and conclude on Sunday with a session from 9 a.m. - noon.
“The camp is an ideal setting for players who have aspirations of playing collegiate soccer at the highest level,” Camp Director/UH Hilo Men's Head Coach
Ziggy Korytoski said.
The camp focuses on the same training philosophy used by the UH Hilo men's soccer program through a combination of competitive training exercises, small-sided games, and an 11 v 11 exhibition format on Sunday. Due to the limited available spots, early registration is advised for those wanting to secure a place and experience the top college soccer environment on the Big Island. Field players and goalkeepers are welcome, however, goalkeeper slots are very limited and will fill up quickly.
This is a non-residential camp and participants will be responsible for providing their own lunch, meals and transportation. Non-Big Island participants fly into Hilo International Airport (ITO).
The camp will be directed Korytoski, his staff, and players from this year's Vulcans squad.
Since arriving from the Guatemala professional ranks in the 2012, Korytoski improved the image and culture of the Vulcans program, and embedded the program in the community. Raising the level of expectations on and off the field, Korytoski brought an attack-minded style of play that is quick, technical, and possession oriented.
The UH Hilo Men's Soccer Spring ID Camp will be the only ID Camp available this year in addition to the 4-day Residential Camp over the summer.
