The 2014-13 University of Hawaii at Hilo is at the end of the road as the Vulcans fell 79-62 to Hawaii Pacific University in the opening round of the Pacific West Conference Championship in San Diego, CA.

Kirstie Williams led the Vulcans with 19 points while Kamie Imai had a 14-point, 10-rebound performance.

The Vulcans roared out of the gate for a quick 10-1 lead Jordan Kealoha's back-to-back treys. As the game progressed, the Vulcans responded to each Sea Warrior rush before relinquishing the lead with five minutes to go in the first half.

A 21-7 Sea Warrior run put the game away minutes into the second half.

"We came out played very well sensibly and knocked down shots," UH Hilo Head Coach David Kaneshiro said. "HPU did a great job of getting back into the game.

"We battle back but couldn't get over the hump."

The Vulcans season ends at 9-16 overall and 8-12 in the PacWest.
